Great Ocean Road.. The Iconic coastal drive..

12 Apostle..

Great Ocean 🌊 Road..(B100) is one of the world’s most iconic coastal drive which stretches along the south western part of Victoria, Melbourne. The drive is through stunning landscape with magnificent views of surfing beaches in the cradle of thick rainforests with eucalyptus trees. Small coastal towns in between spiced up it’s liveliness.

We planned a 3 day trip through this road in the summer holidays of January. Summer electrifies the hues of ocean. This getaway can be experienced as 1 day trip. However, if you are an explorer minimum 3 days are required.

1st day we planned to go straight to 12 Apostle and explored over there (Gibson step and Loch Ard Gorge). Stayed overnight in Port Campbell. If you have enough time drive through B100 from Geelong to energize ourselves. Otherwise, catch the short route and explore the great ocean road in return journey.

2 nd day we pit stopped at Melba gully and then proceeded to Cape Otway Light house before going to the stay in midway at Marengo. Then we explored Apollo Bay harbor which is very shallow and less aggressive.

Last day, we explored some part of Otway National Park, Erskine waterfall which is 8km from Lorne.

The trip will not complete without capturing a snapshot at the sign board of Great Ocean Road which is 10 minutes drive away from Split point lighthouse.
