12 Apostle.. The highlight of Great Ocean Road

12 Apostle..

12 Apostle, the natural wonder nestled in the shore of rugged cliff in the Port Campbell national park. It is the stack of lime stones carved by ocean during the course of time. Even though, the name suggests 12 Apostle, time, weather and salty water caused some stacks to fall and now only 8 are remaining.

There are ample parking space near this. Food outlets are also close to parking space. From there, we can walk around and explore the stunning stacks of lime stones through the wooden platform.

Sunset or sunrise is the best time to enjoy it’s beauty. If you want to admire the real beauty in close quarters, just step down at Gibson steps. That leads to a beach where one of the Apostles’ stand. It is 1 minute drive from 12 Apostle or 5 mt walk. The waves are bit aggressive compared to other beaches..But we can see people surfing in it.

If you have enough time and money, helicopter ride is available to enjoy it’s charm from sky. The magnificent of 12 Apostle is at Loch Ard Gorge. So, a pit stop there is must.
