Spiti…A world within a world. If you are a true traveler ,then Spiti is the best place to get spitified. If you are a luxurious traveler, then you end up in a wrong place…
Day1
We started our journey from Delhi 2pm expecting to reach Narkanda by midnight.. We even didn’t book any rooms in prior as online rooms are full. As expected we reached there around 12am.However we couldn’t find any rooms at Narkanda.. The town was almost chocked with parked cars. So we drive ahead again for 2 hours and then parked the car aside for a quick nap. Then after 2hours we proceeded again in search of rooms.. Finally half hour later we halted at a guest house at the bank of river Sutlej.
Day 2
After breakfast our actual journey begins..The roads leads to breath taking views.

Our adventurous ride begins with narrow roads that made literally by cutting steep rocks with Sutlej river on the other side. This kind of roads are for another couple of hours with small waterfalls, streams in-between..
The topography also begins to change from dense pine forest mountain folds to barren hills with trees here and there…

Each curve gives us new surprises..Each mountain fold is different. Some are with hard rock , some with asphalt rock and some with mere soil.
I think by afternoon we did around 25 pit stop..Every sight is perfect for picture and our camera was the busiest person.
Our night halt would be Nako village. We started our online search for rooms due to previous days’ bitter experience.Almost all home stays were full . Finally one person we called up helped us to book rooms for us from his neighborhood.By the time we reach Nako it was almost 7pm and it was bone breaking cold when we stepped out of our car.
During night I began to feel like nausea and my heads are like very heavy with severe ache. Around 5am I started vomiting. Initially I thought of indigestion of food. I was so sad that I was down with frequent vomiting .Then the thought of mountain sickness of high altitude made me to take tablet Dimox . Wow.. that was the magical tablet that saved our entire trip.
Day 3
Nako a beautiful serene village with some amazing views.. We begin to explore village early morning itself.

One of our friends in Delhi arranged home stay in Spiti Valley. So with free mind we started our sojourn.
Oh my God.. what to say…No words can express the beauty of the routes we encountered. The fun side is we can’t see any big trees. Only we can witness some small bushes scattered. Yet perfect for picture frame

On the way we halted in Tabo monastery for a while..sipped our coffee and laze around for some time.

By around 6pm we reached our stay… Hospitality of spiti people were amazing. The food was freshly prepared with amazing taste.
Day 4
We begin our journey around 9am with a gift our host has given us. A fossil that is unique from Langza. Our aim is to complete ki kibber circuit and then jump to langza hikkim komic circuit. We preferred this to save a day.The only stay we booked in the entire trip was at the komic village.
Key monastery welcomed us with little monks and cinnamon tea. Inorder to get the entire view of the monastery we trekked 15 minutes uphill..That was very strenuous. Yes, only 15 minutes, but with each step we can feel our heavy breathe. Hard trek(seriously)paid off with breathtaking views.

We headed to Kibber village. Meanwhile we met a couple in cycle all the way cycled from Canada. Hats off to their spirit. We had our lunch in Kibber and relaxed intoxicated in the beauty of the village.

After ample time our rollercoaster ride to Langza; another serene hamlet.we felt like reaching a place nowhere in the map..Untouched beauty secluded from outside world..

From Langza we thought of skipping Hikkim for time being as it was too late and reached Komic village..the highest motorable village in the world.. Everything in this village is highest..The most thrilling night of our entire trip..We were boasting about this adventurous trip during night and then we met our heroes who did 8 hours trek from spiti to Komic village. We felt respect for their courageous deed.. Till mid night we played carrom and shared each others travel experience. Meanwhile one of the hero felt nausea and headache..We had given them Dimox and the oxygen puff we carried in case of emergency..Around 2am again we got a knock at the door saying other fellow having shortness of breath. We handed over our oxygen puff to that guy.We were like saviors in the middle of no where and can’t think about any kind of medical help other than airlift.

Day 5
Our plan was to visit Dhankar monastery and stay at Mud village and return back to Chandra taal..But we changed our plan since snow ditched us. I was very much keen to visit Chandra taal and had an idea to return via Chandra taal Manali route.. However due to harsh climate Chandra taal route is not opened. So with heavy hearted we again amended our plan and visited Hikkim village which was 20 mts from there.

Hikkim..Highest post office in the world. We sent post cards from there to our near and dear ones..
Our adventurous people planned to trek to another village and so we thought of dropping them to Demul village which is a self sufficient in every aspect.. Adieu from them and we headed towards Dhankar monastery.

Before going to Dhankar lake we went back to spiti for refuelling.we had our lunch in hotel Deyzor..A must visit hotel in the spiti circuit.

Dhankar one of the oldest monastery which is made out from carving a whole rock mountain..We stayed at Dhankar monastery and next day planned for Dhankar lake as we missed the actual beauty.. Chandra taal…
Day 6
After breakfast we started our another strenuous trek… seriously…Actual trek was 1hours but we did that in 2 hours as we missed an arrow and trekked a whole mountain extra… But end was mind blowing…The whole hardship was forgot with sight of Dhankar lake…

Finally with heavy hearted we set back to Reckong Peo ..We passed Nako village and reached here at 8pm. After 6 days we again started seeing big trees with lush green mountains.
Day 7
Our aim was to reach Delhi…But it was very tireous and by midnight we booked an OYO hotel in Chandigarh and stayed there.
Day 8
Late morning we started our return back ; spiced up our lunch from the famous Sukdev Dhabha and reached Delhi by 4pm with lots of good memory..
