The much awaited trip with schoolmates… Initially we planned to drive in our 5 seater car. Then another friend also joined our mission.. So we opted for 7 seater with driver which was the best decision we made. We had time constraints and if we had driven alone we would not be able to make out the entire trip in the stipulated time frame.
Day 1
As always, we started early morning and crossed Rishikesh, Devprayag, Joshimath and reached our home stay in Auli around midnight. We had only some pit stops to refresh. Homemade chocolate and apple cakes were brought for refreshments. It was really tiresome since nothing much sight seeing was there. The road from Joshimath till Auli was very steep and dangerous. Since it was night we didn’t realize the lurking danger of the road and settled inside our blankets.
Day 2

Most beautiful morning with snow cladded mountains.. Wow.. Really enjoyed the breakfast in the backyard of our stay facing the mountains. Then we moved towards the artificial snow lake and the skiing ground of Auli.
Cable car scooped us and moved up through the skiing ground to top.. Since it was summer no skiing was there. But the view was mind-blowing.

From there we trekked to some extent and enjoyed the beauty of nature. Then returned to our stay, enjoyed dinner with bonfire. The owner of the place shared his experience about skiing and life in Auli.

Day 3
Started our journey to Rishikesh early in the morning. OMG, the roads we climbed up in night was really scary as it was very steep and narrow. We had to reach Rishikesh around 6pm since one of our friends had to return to Kerala for his Visa appointment next day at Kochi. Plan was to catch bus from Rishikesh to Delhi and then a flight from Delhi. The traffic was heavy as there were so many land slides along our way. We bid adieu to the friend at Rishikesh and rest of us stayed back in Rishikesh
Day 4
We raised early, laze around the streets of Rishikesh, went to banks of Ganga, Hanuman jula and ate street foods. The jilebbi and puri combo of Rishikesh is something we should not miss.. Even though the streets were crowded it was very neat and tidy. We then booked our rafting and sent kids and mom to hotel to start our adventure.

Rafting the very famous adventure of Rishikesh. Though we had done it couple of times before, we were excited for another episode of adrenalin rush. As we rafted through the splashing, aggressive, untamed rapids which are named and go by names like The Wall, Initiation and many more… Bone chilling cold Ganga water added it’s flavour.. During midway of rafting, we halted for maggie and experienced cliff jumping too. Though I was so scared as I don’t know swimming, decided to give a try as my better half and friends insisted. As rightly said “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing”.. Then we continued our rafting and completed around 14 kms to finishing point. Started our journey back to Delhi by around 3pm.

Definitely, within limited days we covered few beautiful places and took adventure sports.
