Finally the much awaited and very much needed trip started. This time with a bunch of special friends..
Kasol…An off beat place much famous among youngsters and Israelis’ because of Malana cream. Besides it’s well known for trekkers as Chalal ,Tosh, Manikaran, keerganga and the most difficult Spiti trek starts from there. Its scenic valley, untouched mountains make it an ideal destination for backpackers, trekkers and nature lovers’.
We boarded the bus from Vidhan sabha metro station at around 6.30 pm. After a pit stop for dinner around 10pm we all set for sleep. By around 5am again we got a refreshment break. Finally at 8am we arrived at Bhuntar from where we caught a local bus to kasol. Taxi is also available from there which is much expensive.

Day 1 Kasol camp & Chalal trek
Our bus dropped just infront of our camp site. The very first site itself is jaw dropping..It was cradled in the bank of Parvati river which is away from the crowd of kasol . It is 2 km before Kasol..

After breakfast we just laze around the bank of Parvati river..Its really serene to sit ideally there.

Then we thought of hopping to main market for shopping…We started walking for while and luckily we got a bus. The market itself is very small with lots of handicrafts item.
There are some Israeli restaurant. So thought of experimenting some of their foods..Shashuka was really nice among that..

After lunch we hopped in a bus and get down at our camp.. By around 3pm all people in the camp assembled together for Chalal trek under a guide. Its a 1 hour trek through the banks of Parvati river to the beautiful village which again leads to Kasol town.. So from kasol market also one can do this trek..

After trekking we just laze around in Kasol till night.. The Maggie and masala tea were yummy.. Again we got a tempo which dropped us in our camp.

We had bonfire and dinner and dispersed to our tent for next days’ adventurous trek to Keerganga..
Day 2 Keerganga trek
After breakfast we all gathered for the much awaited and excited Keerganga trek.. The trek starts from Bharshani which is 2 hours drive from kasol. Our camp arranged vehicle for that. Othetwise, we have to catch an early bus to Bharshani.
Around 11 am we reached there. Everyone is so excited.. A tea shop is there where we can buy stick and raincoat. Also boots are available for rent. After giving entry fee, we started our climb.
We went through the forest route. Village route is also there which is much easy compared to forest route. However first one is beautiful.

After climbing 200m one of our team mate suffered from severe muscle cramps and not able to move forward an inch.. Finally she gave up and trek down and went to Tosh camp. We again regained our momentum and moved ahead.

The trek is moderately difficult..But the view is mind blowing..We went during the fall season ..So forest is with different shades of yellow, orange, green, and brown. Forest route is with two or three shops..So half way we had our lunch and pushed forward our legs (tired) with keerganga in our mind..

We reached keerganga around 16:15 and ate Maggie and tea from our camp. Its really commersilized with camps every where. The charm of the mountain itself has gone.. However the panomaric views are awesome..

Keerganga trek will not be complete without hot spring dip .So we went for it. There is separate section for ladies. Oh my God what to say..no words to explain.. The entire tiresome has gone with that dip.. really therapeutic. We are not in a mood to get out of the hot spring.

Finally, we were forced to get out by drizzling.

The camp is with only basic facilities. There is no electricity and network. At night we had bonfire and dinner. However, due to downpour the sky was not clear and the dream about viewing Milky way with naked eyes has gone vain.
Day 3 Descending trek
It was really shivering when we get up since it was snowing in the mountains. Camp fire was lighten due to bone breaking cold. After break fast we started our trekking back to kasol..

For me trekking down was more tiresome. My calf muscles were paining like anything..Any way by around 1pm we reached the base where we started and reunited with our friend. We had our lunch there and went back to kasol camp. By around 5pm we packed our laggage and went to board our bus back to Delhi.. Around 8am we reached Delhi.. Really worth trip…

Things to remember..
- Carry protein bars or dry fruits during trek.
- Take a bottle during trek as natural springs are there to fill water.Bottled water are quite expensive up the hills.
- Take a size bigger shoe . otherwise when we come down our toes will ache.
- Carry minimum laggage while trek.
